This unit provides three games for students to learn genetic variations and the selective pressure in three different populations (fish, bacteria, flowers). Students will need to select an individual and decide whether the individual has high or low fitness under certain environment. Then students will need to decide whether the change (like mutations of mating) can improve the fitness of that individual's offspring. If students' make the wrong decision, explanations will show up and no score will be given. Each game are repeatable. Through the format of gaming, students may learn genetic variation and natural selection with higher motivation.
This unit is one of the three topics under "Evolution > Natural Selection": http://ats.doit.wisc.edu/biology/ev/ns/ns.htm
