Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial, Chapter 12

In Chapter 12 of the video, closing arguments are made in the courtroom. The prosecution states that intelligent design is based on religion and therefore unconstitutional. The defense argues that the Dover school board was simply trying to advance scientific education by presenting new scientific theories. While the judge was making his decision, school board elections take place in which all elected officials were proponents of evolution, not intelligent design, in the classroom. The judges ruling is made that intelligent design is not science, but a religious based idea, and therefore considered unconstitutional. The verdict left many happy, while others were bitter. The only thing that could be agreed upon is that the debate is not over.
