The Role of the Cytoskeleton in Cancer Metastasis

This activity was designed for small group discussions during class. The purpose of this activity was to help students see the importance of the cytoskeleton and to get some exposure to mechanisms of cancer, specifically metastasis of cancer cells. The images and much of the information was taken from a review published by Fife, et al., Brit. J. Pharm., 2014. The first page of the file contains the handout to give to students. The PowerPoint slides that accompany the activity are shown on the second page of the file. Links to videos used during class to show the differences in the amount of movement between benign and metastasized tumors are listed on the slides.
